Rotterdam - On 10 October Stemat Marine Services launches a new App for Apple App Store, Blackberry, Android and Windows Phone. The new Stemat Marine App provides customers with accurate and up to date information about fleet, equipment and services. It is the mobile and digital evolution of the paper booklet which is issued on a yearly basis.
As a Rotterdam-based service company for the maritime sector and as a subsidiary of VolkerWessels, Stemat Marine Services participates in projects all over the world. In every project it is key that partners have an accurate insight in what Stemat Marine Services has to offer. This ranges from an extensive fleet of vessels, boats and pontoons to additional equipment like cranes, winches and even offshore accommodations. Along with the rental of this hardware, Stemat Marine Services also provides its customers with expertise and know how. 'Until now we only issued a booklet in which our customers can find all our hardware and specifications', says Jan-Willem Dijkshoorn, managing director of Stemat Marine Services. 'Over the years this booklet has evolved to no less than 134 pages. New technology for mobile communication gives us the opportunity to lift this valuable tool to a new digital and mobile level.'
Flexible and sustainable
On 10 October Stemat Marine Services launches an App that will contain all the info from the traditional equipment booklet. According to Jan-Willem Dijkshoorn there are two advantages. 'First, there is of course the flexibility an App offers. Any change in equipment and/or specifications can be put forward in seconds. Any time a change occurs, the user of the new Stemat Marine App gets a message. So our customers can always rely on the most up to date information. Second, the App has a positive effect in terms of sustainability. We can issue less booklets, which means less paper. This is good news for the environment.' The new Stemat Marine App is free and will be available from 10 October. For more information, please visit Stemat Marine Services at OffshoreEnergy 2011 in Amsterdam, on 11 and 12 October. Stemat Marine Services can be found in booth 228.
