ACI’s 23rd Ballast Water Management Conference

Session Five of ACI's 23rd Ballast Water Management Conference, taking place on 26th & 27th of June 2019 in Houston, Texas, USA, titled ‘Regulatory Roadmap’, will examine recent changes in ballast water legislation. It is key for ship-owners to be aware of these developments in order to remain compliant at all times.

The session will consist of the following presentations:

‘Update on IMO Ballast Water developments’ - Marcie Merksamer, Biologist / Vice President, EnviroManagement, Inc.

Marcie recently attended IMO’s MEPC 74 (13-17 May 2019) so will be best-placed to share the latest regulatory developments, including BWMS Type Approval updates, developments for ballast water sampling & analysis, and BWMS Commissioning Testing.

‘Canada’s Proposed Ballast Water Regulatory Approach’ - Colin Henein, Manager/Senior Policy Advisor, Transport Canada

Colin will be focusing on ballast water regulation in Canada, addressing Transport Canada’s discussion paper based on amendments required to the Ballast Water Control and Management Regulations.

The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A session, giving the audience the chance to ask our expert speakers anything they wish to know. This will provide an invaluable source of information regarding all aspects of ballast water regulation.
