Case Study 1
Buckskin Deepwater Development, Gulf of Mexico – Riser Installation

CHALLENGE:
Our client required a significantly smaller riser pull-in system which had to be incorporated into their existing framework on the main deck level. The bespoke solution was required for the installation and pull-in of two SCR’s on the Buckskin Deepwater Development, Gulf of Mexico. With limited deck space and extreme operating depths, the Linear Winch also needed to have the capability of delivering 550te of vertical force.

SOLUTION:
We provided the client with a vertical Linear Winch package which reduced space and was equipped with a continuous pull feature allowing our clients to reduce cost and improve safety and efficiency.
The two 8” SCRs were pulled through vertical pull-tubes up to the main deck level of the production spar facility. The 550te linear winch had to be set up in a vertical arrangement, directly over each of the pull-tubes locations.

The Johan Sverdrup Field Project, Norwegian North Sea – Shore Approach

CHALLENGE:
To support the pull-in operations of a 36” oil export pipeline through a 48” diameter 800m long borehole for one of the five largest oil fields on the Norwegian continental shelf – The Johan Sverdrup Field.

SOLUTION:
Our team worked closely with our client to provide a solution which consisted of Engineering, Project Management, Hire Personnel and an ACE 800te SWL Hydraulic Linear Winch Package and ACE 100te SWL Hydraulic Linear Winch Package.

The Johan Sverdrup field is located in the Utsira High area in the North Sea, 155 kilometres west of Stavanger at water depths 110-120 meters.

DolWin 3 Jacket Installation and Topside Floatover, German – Offshore Wind

CHALLENGE:
Our client needed support for the jacket installation and float-over of the DolWin Topside platform. 

SOLUTION:
We supported the operation by mobilising and installing six mooring winch packages and two tugger winches packages, operated by a team of our specialist technicians. 

The DolWin platform is one of the world’s largest high voltage direct current (HVDC) converter platforms, generating enough power to provide approximately 1 million households with clean energy. The platform is located in the German Bight of the North Sea.
