We were the first company in the world to manufacture cast iron hydraulic starter motors which are more robust and longer lasting than alternative materials. Cast Iron is especially suited for underground work where lighter metals such as aluminium are usually banned.

Powerstart Hydraulic Starters

Powerstart’s hydraulic starting systems provide guaranteed reliability no matter how challenging or unpredictable the environment. Their independent, dead-ship or black-start capability is ideal as your primary method of starting fire pumps, emergency generators and compressors.

Powerstart’s ATEX-approved starter motors provide safe starting on offshore platforms, in mines and at other hazardous locations.

Manufactured from cast iron, Powerstart’s hydraulic starter motors combine quick acceleration with high torque output for guaranteed starting in extreme temperatures, after long shut down periods and in damp and hostile conditions.

Powerstart Jetstream Air Starters

Jetstream ATEX-approved air starters are powered by our unique turbine motor which we design and manufacture to be lightweight, powerful and compact. They are resistant to wear and damage making them ideal for marine and offshore applications.

Jetstream air starters need no lubrication and are totally maintenance-free. Available in pre-engaged or inertia drive models, Jetstream are manufactured in two frame sizes with different nozzle configurations developing over 338Nm or 26kW of power at the pinion.

Jetstream air starters allow you to use your existing air supply, and feature an integrated relay valve, easing the installation process and reducing additional pipework requirements.

SureStart Spring Starters

Powerstart’s SureStart spring starter motors are a reliable and cost-effective way of providing manual starting for diesel engines. Coming in six different model sizes, they deliver reliability through simplicity.

To start an engine you simply wind the handle to energize the spring. When the trip lever is pushed the starter motor turns the engine. It is that simple.

Surestart spring starters are perfect for harsh environments and hazardous areas such as offshore and marine applications as they are unaffected by damp conditions. Because they are pre-engaged, SureStart spring starters are also ATEX compliant.
