Celebrating 25 Years of Southbay

In 2026, Southbay is celebrating 25 years of delivering specialist marine civil engineering across the UK. Established in 2001 by Gordon Green, Southbay began as a small specialist contractor focused on projects across the North of England and has since grown into a multidisciplinary business with a turnover of more than £25 million. From completing our first contract over £1 million to delivering the £19 million Riverside Quay Extension for the Port of Tyne, our history is built on growth, expertise and continued commitment to quality, safety and innovation.
To mark this anniversary, we launched our 25 for 25 initiative, completing 25 social value activities throughout our 25th anniversary year to give back to the communities around us. This has included attending careers fairs, holding internal staff competitions, supporting local schools and community groups, as well as fundraising activities. We also brought all staff together for Ladies Day at Newcastle Racecourse to recognise all the hard work, dedication and achievements that have shaped the company over the past 25 years.
