‘Red Kestrel’ NEW freight-only Isle of Wight Ferry

The ‘float-off’ of the new freight-only Isle of Wight RoRo ferry.
At 74m in length, the vessel will provide 265 lane metres of roll-on/roll-off freight capacity and will carry up to 12 passengers. The ship was designed for freight traffic and constructed specifically to provide additional year-round freight capacity for Red Funnel’s Southampton-East Cowes route.
The vessel named ‘Red Kestrel’ entered service with Red Funnel on 24th May 2019.
LK Valves & Controls supplied the quick closing valve system comprising of a hydraulic control station cabinet, 2 x two handle hydraulic release stations without cabinet and the quick closing valves, all within 3 weeks of receiving the order.
Amongst the other valves supplied where the new design LK storm valves and new Winel aluminium tank vent check valves.
