Charles Cleghorn Ltd – A Radical Development

A major stockholding of the Forani & Pecorari bronze pump range is being established by Charles Cleghorn Ltd at their new Royston, Herts warehouse.
Although first brought into the UK in 1986 by Cleghorn Waring, stocks have not been readily available for some time. The bronze centrifugal bilge, deckwash & fire pumps can now be supplied promptly, in a variety of sizes, predominantly in 1 1/2″, 2″ & 2 1/2″ bore, offering flow rates from 27 to 90 cu.m/hr ( 450 to 1500 lit/min ).
The centrifugals are complemented by further stock of Forani’s bronze turbine ( regenerative ) seawater pumps, in sizes from 1″ up to 2 1/2″, widely used for engine cooling & particularly for systems cooling ( hydraulics, gearbox, refrigeration etc ) in the smaller models.
All can be supplied in bare shaft form, with manual or electric clutches if needed, or as compact 3-phase electric motor pump units.
With an enviable reputation for longevity & reliability, the FP range is backed by a stockholding of spares to ensure that down-time is at a minimum when service or maintenance is required.

A stock of some of the more popular models has also been set up in Scotland, with Glasgow’s Mack Engineering, to reduce not only in-transit times but also the impact of logistics costs to the Scottish fishing & workboat industries.
Cleghorn’s Royston stores will additionally hold a NEW RANGE OF AUTOMATIC FRESH WATER PRESSURE SETS, bronze-bodied & robustly designed specifically for working vessels, with availability in a variety of sizes with motor choice from 24vDC, 230/1/50 & 400/3/50.
Peripheral to these ranges but also aimed at the same market, are a low pressure freshwater feed pump ( eg – for raising water from fw tank to ice-maker etc ) and an all-new gear-type LUBE OIL transfer pump, capable of moving cold & hot ( ex sump ) engine oil, supplied in single or 3-phase form.
By specialising in the working vessel industries, with products designed solely for heavy usage, Charles Cleghorn Ltd will continue to develop a second-to none service for marine pumps.
